Flashcard import guide
Import Quizlet or Anki flashcards without starting over
Existing decks can move into Flashcards Space through a public Quizlet set URL or an Anki .apkg file. The two import paths work differently, so check the source and formatting before you begin.
Quizlet set URL
Best when the set has a public page that Flashcards Space can read. You can preview the terms and select what to import.
Private or unreadable pages are unsupported. PDF import is not available through this path.
Anki .apkg file
Best when you have an exported Anki deck. Flashcards Space can import cards, decks, and review history from the archive.
Imported cards can look different because Flashcards Space removes CSS and JavaScript and converts HTML to Markdown.
Quizlet
Import from a public set page
- 1
Open a public, readable Quizlet set page.
- 2
Paste its URL into Flashcards Space or share the page from Safari.
- 3
Preview the extracted terms before anything is imported.
- 4
Choose an existing deck or create a new one, then import the cards you want.
Anki
Prepare the archive before import
Anki templates can contain custom presentation logic that does not map directly to Flashcards Space. Simpler source cards make the result easier to inspect.
Before choosing the file
- Export the deck from Anki as an .apkg file.
- Remove unnecessary HTML before export when practical.
- Simplify card templates that depend on custom styling or scripts.
- Inspect a sample after import before starting a full review session.
Review the imported deck before reviewing the cards
Check a few fronts, backs, examples, and deck assignments first. Rewrite cards that ask for too much, remove duplicates, and keep only the material you still want to study. Importing saves setup time, but the resulting deck still benefits from an edit.
